Mari and Sean proceeded to a dark corner, and promptly sat down, although with some difficulty. They were not really used to moving around with their hands tied yet. Mari wondered why it was that their hands were tied, if they couldn't say the word "tie" for fear of the Tie-fondler.
"How awkward," she muttered, absorbed in her thoughts. She took some spy gear out of her pocket and proceeded to.... what do you know..... spy! She was spying on Ala, Mip, Billy, and Dom, to be exact. What were they trying to do? Why were they sitting against the wall with an unknown liquid? What danger did this pose to Mari and Sean?
"So, are we going to start planning?" Sean asked.
"Sure. You plan how your political race and how you're going to become governor of California, and I'll plan how we're going to figure out what's going on here. Then I'll vote for you, and you can help me."
Mari looked through her spy goggles, which were conveniently invisible, listened through her spy sound-catcher, which fit conveniently into her ear, and used her spy telepathic device, which was conveniently built into her sound-catcher. How convenient. She also hummed the tune of May It Be, but that's irrelevant.
Ala hoped no one could see them through the pitch black.... Hah!, Mari thought. They're trying to cut through the wall, eh? But why? Unfortunately, the telepathic device was not as high-tech as might be supposed. It only picked up on certain elementary thought processes that the subject was not really making an effort to conceal, and then only when it was well-charged and had good reception. It was still quite handy, though.
I could use my stabbing device to cut through the wall..... Do I want to help them, though? How sinister are their plans, exactly?
Another thought came in through the telepathic device. "There are not nearly enough supplies and all seems lost."
"Hmmm....." Mari murmered. "Do I really want to do this?" She checked her supplies.... She had enough. She would probably have what they needed. But they might take her and Sean captive. Actually, they would, if Mari knew them. The telelpathic device indicated in the affirmative. Ah, well, that'll be an interesting change, anyway.....
It was in that moment when all hope had failed that Mari stood up, dragging Sean with her. "We're going over there," she whispered. "We're going to offer them some help, and they might take us captive, but we'll survive. I've just got to know what's going on! Okay?"
"Um..... okay. Sure."
Slowly, carefully, they advanced on the band by the wall, and only tripped over the others a few times, since only one of them could see through the blackness.

Amarië sighed, followed by Dom, then Billy, and after a long dramatic delay, Mippin. 'What shall we do now?' Amarië asked, more curious what everyone else had in mind.
'We could stay here... didn't you always want to be in a menta-' Dom started.
'We cannot give way to where we are yet! For the others are clueless... and it might frighten them to know! and yes I always did want to be... in.. Well yes... but now that I am, and now that I cannot wreck havoc on all the other beings here... it seems pointless...' Amarië stated.
'But you already do wreck havoc on everybody,' stated Billy, 'And where exactly are we again?'
Amarië passed around the picture, hoping they would get it now. There was a dim light from the emergency lights; a bug that would have to be fixed.
'Well then, where are we going?' Billy said, right on cue.
Amarië passed around another picture. Hoping everyone got it now, she asked once more, 'What shall we do now?'
'We can rebuild our supplies up,' Mippin suggested, 'We have penetrated one wall... and there's only one more to go...’
‘Yes, that could be so. So lets go,’ Amarië said, pausing for a moment, hating to have rhymed. They went back into the room to see that Elbereth had arrived.
‘Elbereth! Tied to Elijah, eh? Of course you may be!’ Amarië said, having tinkered with the lights a wee bit to see where Elijah had gone to. She found him curled up in a corner and had Dom help drag him out.
‘AH! Not the Tie!’ he screamed, still half asleep. Amarië attached him to Elbereth by means of rope. He woke up fully, grasping his tie, but then calmed down and blinked for a moment, realizing he was tied to someone.
‘There ya go,’ Amarië said, tightening the knot.

"Wow..... They don't seem to have noticed us at all......"
"That is indeed very peculiar," Sean said, looking up from the book he was reading with the extra pair of spy goggles Mari had conveniently given him. How convenient.
"Ah... I'm getting breaking news from my spy computer! It appears that no one has been murdered in Upstate New York! No, really, here's the news...... We seem to be in a.... mental institution," she whispered.
Aha! I had wondered about that sign on the front door.... the one that said "Tea-O-Rama, owned by Miss Chen Chang and Josiah Higgins"..... Of course, of course, I know now......
"Come with me," she whispered to Sean. Slowly, carefully, they crept out of the room and into the hallway. "Now, like I said, we're in an insane asylum. Which wouldn't be so bad, but I think I'd like to go on vacation, and they offer a bad vacation package here. In fact, I think you only get one trip... to the cemetary of your choice. As you know, that's not exactly optimal. Here's how this came to be: Josiah Higgins is a stalker, and Miss Chen is a murderer who runs a tea shop... a sinister tea shop, at that. They're engaged, but Josiah never knows whether Chen will marry him or kill him. He goes over to her house for dinner sometimes, and he's almost positive he's heard her say 'Goodnight, sleep well, I'll most likely kill you in the morning' a few times right before he's left. Anyway, he feels sorry for some of her victims, and so they compromised..... He stalks, and when he gets her a victim he really doesn't want to see killed, that victim will be placed in here. Now, we need to get out, because I've decided I'd like to go to Prague, and you can obviously afford it. Would you mind going?"
"No, not at all, actually, I hear it's quite beautiful."
"Ah, indeed it is," Mari murmered, seeming quite sad. Then she shook herself. "Enough of that. Let's get going. Through this ventilation shaft here, that's as good as any other. Now, this might be rather difficult, but we're going to try this Mission Impossible style. Okay?"
"Sure. When we get to Prague, can we go to that restaurant with the fish?"
"Sorry, that doesn't exist. But there'll be larks when we get there, rest assured of that."
"Aw. I always wanted to go there. Oh well. It'll still be spiff, I suppose."
Mari reflected on how she was influencing Sean's vocabulary already, and let out a satisfied sigh. They crawled into the ventilation shaft together, bit by bit.
"Y'know," Sean whispered, "I'm getting pretty used to being tied, but it would still be nice to be able to use my right hand."
"I'm sorry about that. Do you want to switch some time? I wouldn't mind using my left hand, and I'm already pretty good with it. I could always brush up on my left-handed skills, though. A knife-fighter needs to be skilled with both hands, you know."
Suddenly they heard the sound of speech coming from further down the passage. Someone else was in the shafts! Were they following them? Mari reproached herself for talking, she had probably just given them away. Why had she forgotten one of the first and most elementary rules of spy-like behaviour?
She signalled to Sean with some odd hand motions, and he signalled back. They had to use their untied hands, of course. Now quickly and quietly they advanced down the tunnel, hardly daring to breathe. But as they went, Mari grew more certain that they were indeed being chased. They came to a corner, and had a hand motion battle trying to decide which way to turn. Finally they turned left. Only seconds later Mari rued the decision bitterly. For when they turned the corner, they came upon their pursuers, and all hope of escape was lost.

[[Ah! *kicks computer* it just killed me and a post that was about 2 pages long!!! *sobs*]]
Amarië had just finished tightening the knot, when Dom elbowed her. 'What is it, mon?!'
Dom pointed to Amarië's pocket, which was glowing green from the device she had put there for the moment. She found a quiet spot in the corner of the dark room and sat down, took out the device and flipped it open, revealing a map of the building with two dots making their way around some blue lines.
'Eep!' 'Eh?'
Amarië pointed.
'Ah, so we have to stop them?' 'Yes,' responded Amarië. 'But won't they be of help to us,' asked Dom 'Of course! But first, we must get them on our side.' 'I see. So we must go capture them?' 'You've been reading my book, haven't ye?' asked Amarië. 'Well... I was really bored for a moment there.' 'Good. Let’s set out!' 'But what about Mip and Billy?' asked Dom. 'They are fine...'
Amarië stood up and set out down the hall. She found a vent near the ground and pulled out the vent covering. Letting Dom go in first, she followed, and then covered up the hole. They crawled through the conveniently wide tunnel. Until they heard voices, and stopped and listened.
'What about now?'
'SHHH!'
'Man, sorry!'
'Be quiet, you fool!'
'You don't have to yell!'
Amarië took some tape and taped his mouth shut. She looked down at the device to see the two dots moving at full speed. She signaled to Dom to follow them fast, and pointed to where they would corner them. They followed them at full speed also. Amarië made some signals and Dom nodded; they turned a different direction than whom they were pursuing had.
'They'll take a left! They always do!' Amarië signaled and Dom nodded more. Amarië handed Dom something wrapped in white cloth. He took it and got himself ready. They waited.
'Now!' Amarië yelled as Mari and Sean turned the corner. In a quick blur Dom had had a gun aimed and Sean and Marigold had gone down.
'AAH! Not that, Dom!' Amarië yelled, and then rushed over to Mari and Sean. Blood was pouring everywhere. And soon, Amarië's clothes were stained red, as were Dom's, not mentioning how bad Sean and Mari were.

BAM! Dom had shot Mari and Sean, despite Ala’s protests. They were wearing bullet-proof vests, luckily. The vests were stiff and uncomfortable, but on dangerous missions like this one, it didn’t do to go without them. And Mari had just happened to have a pair. The blood was released from membranes in the vests’ outer layers – it was simply a bluff, nothing more. Making your enemies believe you were wounded could be to your advantage, sometimes. The shots propelled them back, and they fell over backwards, stumbling through the narrow tunnel. Mari’s foot caught in a crack in the floor, a space where the shaft hadn’t been crafted very well. As she and Sean fell, her ankle twisted excruciatingly, and she winced and let out a groan. Sean looked at her worriedly, but no one else seemed to notice. Ala was too preoccupied admonishing Dom.
"You’re not supposed to really shoot! Remember what happened the last time, when you shot Mip? Didn’t you learn anything from that?!" Ala cried out to Uncle Dom, who seemed to be slightly worried as to exactly how much damage he had caused.
"Are you alright?" Sean whispered to Mari.
"No, not really, I think I've twisted my ankle," she whispered back, in a pained voice. "But don't let it show. I'll try to pretend I'm okay. It wouldn't do to have them know yet... we have to use this to our advantage."
What Mari didn't say was that they could very well torture them for information, and her ankle would be an excellent way to do so. Mari wasn't sure what information they'd want or if she even knew what they'd want to know, but she was sure she'd be interrogated. They'd at least try to force Sean and Mari to join their side, and Mari was determined not to do that without a fight. Not necessarily because she didn't want to join them, she did more than she could say. She just wanted to make things interesting, and see what they would do. But she wanted to keep Sean out of anything violent - she wasn't sure he'd deserve it, even though she probably did.
"Are you alright?" Ala asked, helping them to their feet. "This isn't your blood, is it? It's another trick, right?"
Mari nodded, and Ala and Dom both looked relieved. Mari couldn't figure out whether or not it was an act. In any event, it was a very convincing act.
"Follow me," Ala said, leading the way right and down, into... somewhere. Sean and Mari had no choice but to follow, not knowing what might lie ahead. Mari had trouble walking, but she did the best she could, and leaned on Sean as little as possible. As they progressed, she wondered exactly how Ala had known they'd turn left, and then remembered that Ala was telepathic. What with Ala and Mip both being telepathic and currently against them, they had little hope.

'Hallo? Halloooo? Anyone?' Leo squinted into the darkness around her. It was awfully quiet...but surely there was someone here, though they were probably lurking in the shadows.
Leo backed up a few steps, pressing her back against a wall, just in case. 'Ye-es, I have finally...decided...to conform and join you...' Still no answer. 'Yeah...uhm..can I be tied to someone? Like David Wenham or Daniel Falconer? Yes? Eep...'

Ala snackled to herself. It was all perfectly planned out. Dom knew what to do. He didn't not know that he wasn't supposed to not shoot them! ((wow.. that was way to many negatives in one sentence... bwahahaha)) Ala knew they had the vests! They both knew it all and worked it all out perfectly planned as it was perfectly perfected! Now they could proceed with the next part of perfectly planned perfected plan! Which was...
((This portion of the post was cut out due to violent nature and revealing of things that do not need to be revealed at the moment for they cannot be revealed because they have to be kept secret!! Got it?! AAAH! Forget you! *stab*))
Ala and Dom lead them out of the tunnel and into a dark room. ((here it comes))
'JOIN!'
'SURE!!'
'What are we joining?'
'What are they joining?'
'You fool! You should know what they are joining! They are joining forces!' Ala whacked Dom.
'Ah, but what happened to the torturing?'
'Um.. yes...'
Ala walked over to Mari and Sean and double poked them. 'Now, we shall depart!'
'So, where are we going?'
'Well, if I'm right we have someone very indecisive out there who wants to be tied to someone...' Ala replied, walking out of the room.
'But!!'
'What this time?'
Dom made some odd pointy gestures towards Mari and Sean.
'Ah, yes. Marigold, here drink this.'
Ala handed her some Sproke. Mari eyed it then pocketed it, not sure what the effects would be.
'And now we shall depart!'
They departed and found Lëo standing in the dark room, everyone off somewhere... else.. in the room.
'So...? David Wenham or Daniel Falconer?' Ala said, taking out some string, invincible string, of course.

'I...uhm...' Leo eyed the invincible string von doom warily. Invincible things von doom were not, in her experience, very good things to be around. But Ala was glaring at her e-villy, and e-vile Ala's were worse than string. Usually, anyway. 'Uhm....I guess...David Wenham...?'

'Still indecisive, eh? Good... good..' Ala said snackling randomly, not really paying attention. She screamed William really loudly and David suddenly fell through the roof. He rubbed his head a bit and before he realized what was going on he had been tied with invincible string to Lëowen.
'Ooh, that hole is going to be taken out of your bank account!'
David started to protest saying something about how it wasn't his fault and he was in the middle of watching a movie when he suddenly poofed into a cloud of doom to no return.

Mari snickered at David Wenham. Poor man. Falsely accused and tied to Lëo. Things could get worse, but not by much.
On a domran impulse, Mari started dancing around and semi-shouted, "Mwahaha! I have withstood dreadful torture, and I survived! Fear me!"
"Um... Mari?" Sean interjected. "She poked you. That's really, really dreadful, sure."
"Shh! They don't need to know that! They know nothing!"
"Right."
Mari tried to make peace. After all, it was rather her fault that Sean had been dragged around so much and made to watch such odd antics...
"So, um, if ye were running for governor of California, I would vote for ye. I'd move there special-like, just to vote. And I'd make everyone I'd ever heard of who lives in California vote for ye, too."
Sean seemed touched. "Aww... thanks. How many people do you know over there, anyway? If the Golden Ring Marathon really gets going, you could drop some hints here and there. Maybe I should help with that. It's good for my public image...."
They got deep into political planning while Lëo plagued David and Ala whispered to Dom. Mari eventually decided that they should get a move on, and maybe ask to be let in on some of the plans, since they had joined... They knew a lot from watching the security cameras, but not everything...
"I think we should go see what's going to happen from here. Don't drink this stuff in my pocket unless you've just drunk some anti-sproke... then ye'll need it. I'm glad we have anti-poison with us, indeed right here in my pocket. So very handy..." Mari proceeded to sidle over to Ala and Dom, and Sean followed.
"So, Ala. Could ye tell us exactly what's going to be done?" Mari whispered into Ala's ear. She hoped she had been just loud enough for Ala to hear. She really didn't want to risk repeating her whisper.

Mip looked around... it was dark. "Um, say.. Billy... where are we?" She heard Billy move around, and then mutter something. "I was hoping you could tell me, that."
It had seemed that Mip and Billy somehow ended up... somewhere... DARK! And well, they didn't know how they got there. Mip dropped to the floor, dragging Billy down with her, who ended up complaining about how she should warn him. "My dear Billy, how long have we been tied to each other now? Quite a long time..."
She pressed her ear to the floor, heard a squeak and and a clunk coming from below. There was a bit of light emanating from... SOMEWHERE!!! and so Mip turned around to see Billy.
"You know where we are, don't you?"
"I do now."
"Great, so all we need to do is find where Dave fell and drop down."
"Wait.. what?"
Mip pointed to the ceiling, and down to the floor again, and suddenly... for some strange strange reason.. Billy understood exactly what she was talking about. To make it even stranger, as he walked around, he fell into the hole where David fell, and Mip came flying behind him.
They fell on the ground, and lay sprawled out for a while, groaning at the fact that the carpet was not all that soft. Ala and Dom rushed over.
"Nice of you to join us again." they both said in unison, all cheery and bright.
"Help a friend up, will you?" Mip and Billy chimed in weakly.
Dom and Ala shrugged and helped the two up then offered them a bit of tea. Both Mip and Billy refused and they went off to find David and welcome him.
"Well, Lëo... looks like you're finally tied. How's it feel?" Mippin said happily.
Lëo shot her a look and snarled at Mip in a way that made David twitch.
"Don't worry, David.. she can't be worse than these two." Billy said reasurringly, pointing to Mip and Ala. Mip beamed at the compliment.
"Why, Billy! You really think I'm that bad? Shame. I was growing quite fond of you, too. But.. I guess if you really think I'm bad, I couldn't hold you against your will. I can always have you tied to a fangi-"
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Billy screamed and shuddered.
"Oh, come off it Bill. I may be e-vile, but I'm not THAT e-vile." she shot back, smiling deviously. "By the way, would you sign this elvish piece of wood? I just want to make sure that it was I, Mip, who gave you one of the strangest things to sign."
Billy twitched some more and reluctantly signed the piece of wood which Mip always kept in her pocket.
"Thank a bunch. Now, what say we do something entertaining but... not dangerous?" Mip asked.
"Like what?" Billy wanted to know.
"I don't know. What do you want to do? I've annoyed you enough, I think you should pick this time."
"Alright, how about we sit, and do nothing?" Billy asked, probably thinking it was worth a try anyway.
"Sure, Bill. We'll sit. And do nothing." Mip said, allowing him to find a nice place to sit, where he would inevitably end up falling asleep at. She grabbed her laptop, and decided to browse around the GRM, and prepare to explain it all to him once he woke up.
He eyed her warily, as if she was up to something. But instead, Mip handed him her CD Player and a Travis CD, and then went about her business tapping lightly at the keys on her laptop.

Ala proceeded to explain what was to be done by taken out random photographs and pointing to random things, with the occasional Faramir-tappy...-thingy. And Dom occasionally adding things. Right as Ala was going through the final picture of a burnt building, Mip and Billy fell through the hole in the roof.
Ala and Dom went over and helped the two up. After being declined on their tea offer, they went and sat down in the middle of the walkway and drank what tea there was, waiting to see if anyone would join them.
'I wonder why no one wants tea,' Dom... um... wondered.
'Because.. it was made by me... of course. Shouldn't you know that by now? After being turned into a sqwerl and all.'
'Er.. no?'
'Yes, Dom, no.'
'Ah, I see.'
Ala looked around. It was still reasonably dark in there. She waited to be tripped over. Because then, she could yell at the person who tripped over her.
After thirty minutes of silence and boredom, Ala finally gave up. 'So, what now?' she asked Dom.
'Well what about you big plan of.. er.. yeah...?'
'I don't know. Do you have any ideas of what we do now.. the walls are too thick, the windows are too thick, the roof is to-' Ala stopped, and looked up at the hole where David fell from, 'I wonder how he broke the roof. Must have been falling pretty fast.'
'How did he exactly get there.. he said he was watching a movie when he poofed into a cloud of no return.'
Ala shrugged, 'Well. Time to see if there is any way to go through that hole. Mip and Billy fell through it before.. I wonder if they just didn't see it coming.'
'Too bad we don't have any really tall ladders. And too bad the roof is so high up. That must have really hurt.'
'Of course it did. Now, let’s find a way to the roof!'
Ala and Dom set off, leaving the room. Ala opened found a room full of boxes and climbed them to an air vent.
'I wonder what's in those boxes,' Dom said, starting to open one. 'Hey! Look! its another one of those mystery boxes!'
'No..No more camera's for you. Hither!'
Dom muttered. Ala motioned him to go in first before he got too involved in the boxes. They crawled through the air vent until they came to a spot where there was two paths they could take. 'Now what?' Ala asked.
'Well, what about that little map-thingy, you have?' 'Em,' Ala took it out and fiddled around with it. 'Err... you pick one!' 'Okay, what's wrong with it?' 'The batteries died!' Ala cried. 'Well, don't you have spare batteries?' 'No.' 'Okay then..' Dom said, starting to rummage through his pockets for batteries, 'Okay, well then... lets just go.. that way!' 'Dom, you're pointing at the wall of vent..' 'Oh, yes.. um.. that way!' Dom said, pointing again. 'But that way has more light.' 'Okay, then that way...'
They continued through the vent until it got really bright.
'Curses!'
'What?'
'Who put this light here?' Ala said, pulling the plug on a light that was conveniently plugged into a light socket located on the wall of the vent. 'Okay, so, I think it was the other way..'
'But wait, I still see light that way,' Dom said.
Ala shrugged and they continued on that way until they had finally reached the hole. They looked down at the rest of the people in the room. 'HA! I win!' Ala said.
'But you wanted to turn back!'
'Darn you. You had to ruin it, didn't you?'
'Er. yes.'
'Well then, let’s see if there is any way to get on the roof,' Ala said, looking around, 'Without falling back into the hole, too.'
'Don't get too close the edge, the floor of the vent is weaker there,' Dom said, pushing down on it. 'Ooh, I wonder.'
Dom pushed on the roof and Ala got the idea and started to help.

'They're in the vent...' Billy murmured in his sleep.
'Yes, Billy.. I know.' Mip replied as she tapped away at the keyboard.
'Why are they in the vent?' Billy continued to ask unconsciously.
'It's part of the plan, Billy.' Mip replied again.
There was silence for a while, while Billy inhaled and exhaled deeply.
'Why aren't we following them?' he asked, still in his sleep. He was muttering, but since he liked to take naps a lot, and he was tied to Mippin, she could make out what he was saying.
'Because, my dear uncle, you're asleep.' she said, rather amused at the fact that she was carrying a conversation with someone who was fast asleep.
'oh...right...' he murmured and stopped talking for the rest of his nap.
Mip decided to beckon Mari and Sean over, considering she couldn't really drag Billy to them. Well, she could, but she knew the value of sleep. They made their way over, and Mip immediately changed the subject to being shot by uncle Dom.
'So, I mean, how was it like?' Mip asked enthusiastically.
'Erm, well, you got shot by him once... I should think it was much like that.' Mari answered.
'Oh. Right.' Mip murmured and glanced at Billy.
'Are we going to wake him?' Mari asked.
'He'll wake up soon enough.' answered Sean.
At that moment, Billy woke up. Mip snickered to herself and awaited Billy's explanation of how he thought their conversation was a dream.
'I had a strange dream... I dreamt that Ala and Dom were in the vent, and I kept talking to Mip about it.' he explained.
'And I said we weren't going to follow them because you were asleep. But you aren't now... do you want to follow them?' Mip replied quickly.
'Eh? Oh... er.. sure.' Billy said, a bit confuzzled.
'Great. Let's go.' Mip said, urging Billy up.
'By the way, look up the GRM' she added. 'Mari, Sean, care to join us?'
They nodded and followed, climbing up into the attic. Mip was sure that's where they were going, considering that Ala was so bent on how David fell, and then she and Billy ended up falling too.

Ala and Dom had just about pushed up all the ceiling above them when Sean, Mari, Mip and Billy had appeared from the vent.
'Come to join us, eh?' Dom asked.
'Well, we're all in it together, aren't we?'
'Em.. yes..'
With no more talking, the four of them helped them (yes, them helped them) push the ceiling back far enough for them to get by.
'Okay, so.. who's first?' Ala asked.
They all blinked and looked back and forth at one other.
'Okay, then I shall,' Ala said, standing up and crawling in, followed by Dom, then Mari and Sean, then Mip and Billy. They blinked a few times, getting used to the light. Everyone's hopes built up. For they thought they had finally made it. And right when they had gotten used to the light (after being in a dimmed room and dark vent), they saw what doom had awaited them. How all their hopes came crushing down to see that the room was only filled with really bright lights, covering the walls. And the ceiling of what they thought was the ceiling was just a giant photo of the sky moving back and forth. A few of them cried out in frustration, some just fell over. Others pounded at the ground, leaving dent marks in it.
'That was weird, right?' Dom said. ((*snackle* *waits for someone else to get it*))
'Well.. yes.. but... why? Noo! Why? WHY?!' Ala said, taking out a knife and throwing it up at the picture. 'How could it be? There is no paths connecting to this second story! What could it be for?!'
The knife punctured the picture and then fell down and hit a light, sending sparks around.
'They're messing with our heads, they are!' Ala said sitting down in the middle of the floor and passed out some sunglasses.
