My favourite book.... hmm, so far.. out of all the ones I've read... all of them! I think that they are truly the foundation of the fantasy genre, and I also like reading which reflects a Christian meaning, which Tolkien intended for his texts... and is embedded within the writings. ;D

The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit are my favourites so far... The Silm was great, but it didn't grab me like the others.
They are just great storytelling. Vivid and complex, but beautiful and exciting. And at times they can be very profound... I like a grand story that can still make me think.

My favourite Tolkien book is definately the Lord of the Rings. (Yes, I count that as one book.) It's an incredible story unlike anything else I've seen, and once I start reading it, I can never put it down. I like the Silm., too, but not quite as much as LotR. The Hobbit is ok, but it doesn't seem as deep and complicated as LotR and the Silm. to me. And if you must know, my favourite book of LotR is the Return of the King.

My favourite book is the FOTR, because the whole fellowship is together and you see Frodo and the hobbits as they first are. But then they slowly become different. I'm not sure if this is making any sense whatsoever, but you get the picture.

I agree with Arwen! The Fellowship is my favourite tolkien work (I know, it's not really a separate book). I like it 'cuz it's happier than the rest of them, and I usually don't like to read depressing things. Depends on my mood, really.
