This is just a random story I started about a Nazgul named Oliver and his flying squirrel Chippy. Needless to say, it's a bit odd, but it's going to get odder. ;D
It's not done yet, but I promise to put up the new parts as I finish them.
Ah yes, any suggestions for a title would be nice!
“Fly! Go on!”
“No.”
“Go!”
“No!”
“Well why not?”
“I don’t like squirrels…”
Sauron, Dark Lord of Middle-earth, and the Ringwraith Oliver stood outside the dark tower. The other Nazgul had already left, leaving only Oliver behind. You see, the wraiths had received their new, extra-spiffy e-vile mounts today, steeds that would strike fear into the heart of any mortal. Supposedly.
What they got were squirrels. The Nazgul had reluctantly left on their mounts, all except Oliver, who it seemed, had an inexplicable fear of rodents.
“It’s just a squirrel,”
“No it isn’t. It’s a giant squirrel. That flies.”
“Well technically it glides, but yeah, that’s the idea.”
“No.”
“But it’s your scary mount!”
“It’s a squirrel for Elbereth’s sake!”
“Ack! You said the word!” Sauron covered his ears, twitching a bit. Behind him the squirrel also twitched. But that was just because it was a squirrel. Oliver looked confused. “What?”
“Nothing,” Twitch. “Just get on” Twitch. “Your squirrel.” Twitch. “Now!”
Sauron looked a bit angry. Ok, well, a lot angry, so Oliver leaped toward the squirrel, which stared at him rather disconcertingly with its huge black eyes. Oliver climbed hesitantly into the black saddle. “Does this thing have a uh, name?”
“Chippy.”
“Uh…great.” Oliver pressed the squirrel’s sides with his boots, nudging the rodent into movement.
“SQUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!” Chippy leaped forward, scampering over the barren nothingness that was Mordor. Oliver screamed. Chippy squeaked.
Wraith and rodent soon disappeared out of sight. Sauron, meanwhile, went back inside to have a nice cup of tea.

“I thought you flew!” screeched Oliver. Chippy didn’t respond. Instead, he simply scampered faster, little squirrel paws racing. Oliver watched the landscape zipping by. He knew that mountain. It was the one near the cliff. The cliff was about half of a mile ahead of them. Cliff…
“Wait, Chippy!” Oliver yanked uselessly at the reins. “Wait! The cliff! The cliff!”
Chippy kept scampering. Ahead of them, the horizon stopped. The cliff. ”I hate you, Chippy.”
“SQUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!” Chippy, paws still flailing, rushed headlong over the drop. Oliver moaned.
“We’re dooooooooomed!” The sharp pointy rocks at the base of the cliff looked menacing indeed and the wraith plummeted downward.
“Squee!” said Chippy. Oliver glanced up. They were flying! Limbs stretched out to form mini wings, Chippy soared through the grey sky. “How long can you fly like this?” asked Oliver, staring down fearfully at the ground.
“Squee?”
“Yes, Chippy. Squee.”

“Which way is Orthanc?”
“Squee.” Said Chippy.
“Thanks. That really helps,” Oliver was curled up in a tiny ball at the base of one of the trees by the small clearing. He was not happy. It was dark out. Really dark. Oliver hated the dark almost as much as he hated fire, which was really quite a lot. Of course, it was also very strange for a wraith to be afraid of the dark, but then again, Oliver was a very strange sort of terrifying e-vile minion.
Lightning streaked the overly dark sky. Chippy was now fast asleep, leaving Oliver to quiver by himself by the tree. Or at least, Oliver thought Chippy was fast asleep. It was actually too dark to see, so he wasn’t entirely sure. Oliver reached out a spiffily mailed hand, expecting to poke squirrel. Instead, the place where Chippy had been was empty.
“Chippy?” No answer.
Oliver stood up quickly, banging his head against an unseen tree branch. He fell down on his back, just in time to see lightning strike a nearby tree… and set it on fire. What a wonderful night this was turning out to be.
And it was still really dark out.
