I try to do that too, but I still end up reading fast. And yeah, I read HP 5 in one day too...

I'm going to have to cut back on the books to take with me. I have eight, but the bag they're in is far too heavy. There's one I could get rid of... But other than that, I'll be taking a lot of books I may or may not read, and basically lugging a gigantic amount of weight around, as usual. Nothing new. Although I'm getting better... trust me, it used to be where I'd be taking twice this much. I'm a notorious over-packer, but I always want to be prepared. There's a difference between preparation and just lugging around extra unnecessary stuff, though... So, I guess I'll report on how many of them I actually end up picking up and reading...

Good luck. =P
Yeah, I'm like that too. Last year I went to a birthday party and took 12 books with me... my friends still make fun of me for that one... -.-

I always do. I take a book with me to slumber parties and everything, for moral support. I need it.
Now, I've got some summaries of the days typed up, but they're not on this computer (I'm using my grandmother's computer), and I don't have a disk available to me. So I'll try to get them posted tomorrow or whenever possible. Hopefully soon.

I bring notebooks with me, so I can write about the people that I'm with. Someday I'll change the names and publish it, and they will spend the rest of their lives wondering "Am I Ann or Beth? Am I the one she said was a moron? " MWHAHAHAHHAHAHA

^^ Go Arwen. I hope I'm not the one you said was a moron.
Now, for the account of the trip... I've only written up two days so far, and that's all I might ever write. I don't know. We'll see.
May 14th, Pippin Friday: Hallo all! I wish I could actually talk to you instead of having to just write about what happens to me… but I know that if I don’t, I shall be tortured and/or interrogated (probably both). So I think it’s in my best interests to write. So far, not too much interesting. I’m writing this on the fifteenth, but that doesn’t matter, does it? Or does it? Yesterday we… left, as most of ye know. Most of ye saw me off, so to speak, and I’m most obliged, to be sure. We were all a little tense and tired in the car, but it was nice enough. I argued with my mum no less than four times, but I was able to discuss a lot of GRM stuff and other stuf, so that worked out well enough.
When we got to our hotel, it turned out that they didn’t have any room for us except on the concierge floor, so we had to be up there. Not that we thought that would be a bad thing, and it’s not like they could charge us extra, either. But it was just a hotel room. We were all glad that we had been able to bid for a hotel room and get a room in a three star hotel for less than we would have paid for a two star, and then get bumped up to the eleventh floor, which was supposedly the best… But it really wasn’t all that great. I don’t see how they can get away with charging people extra to be on that floor. I didn’t really like it, and we all expected it to be better than it turned out to be. I think that we would have preferred a continental breakfast to having a guy stand outside our door and not do anything, and then leave. That was fairly pointless. And they charge people extra for this?! I’ll never understand some things. I’ve stayed in some really nice hotels, and that was certainly not one of them. Like I said, no breakfast. How can someone get away with charging you eight dollars for breakfast or else not giving you any at all? And how can any breaskfast food cost eight dollars per person? That’s insane. So, we ate fruit, and got stuff at a place called Spangle’s… seems to be a Kansas thing. It was like a little Fifties restaurant, and quite cute, and we got these things called ultimate bagels that had bacon and ham and scrambled eggs an’ all. Not the kind of thing we usually eat, but one makes do.
What’s really kind of funny is that I eat a lot more meat on these trips than I ever do otherwise, because you really can’t get away from meat in fast food unless you buy one of those nasty salads that are really just straight out of one of the grocery store salad bags. Even the ones they advertise as so great with some much extra stuff are really just iceberg lettuce with three cherry tomatoes. Oh, and my dad has cherry tomato plants. He really likes them. And we shall have our own tomatoes. Sounds spiff. I am amused. But we’re kind of worried about who’s going to water them while we’re gone, and they might get ripe while we’re gone, too. We’ve asked two neighbors to do it, unless one doesn’t, and I said that now they won’t dry out, they’ll get watered twice a day and drown. Oh well. I hope they don’t die, though. Home grown tomatoes are really good. American tomatoes are really nasty, did you know that? I bet you didn’t. Now ye do. Huzzah for thee.

May 15, GRM Saturday: So, now I’m writing for today. Go me. I just had a lovely ice cream cone… Did ye notice how yesterday bled into today? It’s as if today didn’t start until noon… Because I wrote a fair amount about this morning as yesterday. Huh. Anyhow, I had chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone. And it was good. They filled the waffle cone quite nicely. I wish you all good chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone. I would have shared, but I forgot. Bad me. Sorry! Now I’ll just have to remember in case I eat anything else good to have a bite in everyone’s honor. Because I don’t think you’d really want it now, and I can’t precisely give you something I haven’t got. Well, I guess I could… *hands everyone chocolate ice cream in waffle cones* There! Enjoy!
Now, you’ve all been behaving yourselves, right? I hope you haven’t done anything absolutely fascinating without me. Then I would have to stab ye. I know ye have. *stabs everyone* Why do I switch between you and ye so much? I don’t suppose that matters either… I shall speak as I wish, no? I really do go back and forth between many different styles… but all the more fun to speak! My mum doesn’t think my apparent telepathy is too weird… I’m slightly disappointed, and slightly scared. How can telepathy not be weird? Ah well. I thought I was weird! But still, that’s just because she’s that way, and she reasons that if you talk to someone every day, you’d be pretty connected, for lack of a better word. Thing is, though, I’m still not sure how normal it is… But then she can tell when people think about her and such, and she used to be able to know what anything you gave her was by just touching it. It wasn’t Holmsian, either, because it wasn’t stuff she had asked for. She’d just pick up a present and go “Oh, I know what this is!” That’s rather odd, no? Yes. I thought so too.
Now, I shall be seeing my Vetters later this afternoon… Yup. Not sure how excited I am about that.. They like me, I like them, but I’m all tired and don’t want to be on this trip, and it just started. I think we all feel like that, though. I don’t really want to be around all sorts of people all clamoring for my attention, I just want to be at home, all peaceful, and talk with ye all. That would be most excellent. Unfortunately, that is not granted to me. I hope I’ll be able to get online this weekend…. probably not, though. We shall see. Mip was right, Word is not very elipse-friendly. And it says elipse has two Ls, but I don’t care. I like it better with one. Heh. I’ve had to add a lot of things to the dictionary during the logs of this trip and last, “heh” and “Mip” among them. The green and red lines bug me. I don’t want it to tell me things are wrong when they’re not. So, here’s Mari, tired, and, well, tired. Sort of. Nothing like my dad, who’s sleeping. But this morning I said that I wanted to go home… and I do. And I’m stuck here for a week. We’ll be back on Friday, though, that’s good. I shall see you all on Friday! That’s ages from now, though… six days! Ack! *dies* Now I’ve added “ack” to the dictionary… And for some odd reason I had to add it in upper case and lower case, because this machine isn’t even smart enough to realise that capitalized words and lower case words can be the same word… That’s it. It claims that realise is wrong. I’m really tempted to put it on UK spelling… I think I would, except for the fact that my teachers might not appreciate that. And I want to do well on papers.
I have done so. Oddly enough, it’s not telling me that “realise” is correct yet.. *stabs it* Heh, I added “meep” to the dictionary, too, and it suggested that it was Mip. ^^ That was good. And Firi, Elbie, Arwen, you’re in here, too. Don’t know about Ala and Lëo… Now ye are. It recognized Ala already… weird. And it just changed “recognised” to “recognized”! Gah! Don’t do that to me! Now it works. Now my default is UK. I don’t think I should have done that, though, because it affects the whole computer, not just my account, and my mum or dad might not like that so much… I’ll change it back. Rats. When I get my own computer, though, it’ll be on UK. I could do it on this one if only it let me change things specifically for my account.. but it doesn’t, plaguey thing. And if the computer that has problems ever gets fixed, that will be mine, and then I shall write the British way all I want. Huzzah! Well, I could change back and forth, but chances are I would end up forgetting… Yes, and supposedly the custom dictionary only works for the specific language, so everything I added to the dictionary while I was on UK no longer applies! Who makes these rules?
I’m going to go read about Quenya pronunciation now. When I get sick of that, the battery runs low, or I read all of lessons 1-5 of the Quenya course, then I shall have to read something else, or sleep, or be in Seward. I might be in Seward by then. Considering that we’re only two hours away, and there are three hours and four minutes left on the battery, I think I’ll just spend all my time doing that. And here I brought all these books, too. Go me. I know I won’t read any more on the way back… I always intend to, and then I go and talk the whole time. Off to read the Quenya lessons. Wish me luck. I don’t think I’ll be able to write the next entry in Quenya, though.. not yet. Czech, maybe, but then I would have to provide a pronunciation, and the document would be twice as long.. I believe I shall forgo that.
Oh, this is great! I’m working on Lesson One… these take forever, y’know. Anyhow, so I just found out… lëo means “shade”! That is great! I laughed! Mip, you definitely know what I’m talking about, and I think you do too, Lëo. The golden/silver thing… Mip the Insane: I agree. Mari - Gold... Leo..heck.. Leo is just shadow.. See? Absolutely priceless! And now we find out that Lëo means shadow… Simply priceless! *huggles it* That is great, great, great. I can’t get over that. And in that chat, incidentally, Firi and I both used five exclamation marks in one sentence… isn’t that supposed to be a sign of insanity? I thought so. That is the greatest chat. You and your Mip-like mind, which I’ve been invading more often recently… but then again, it’s only fair, since you invade mine at least as much… Um, to everyone else, gold. Yes. Huzzah for gold! And Fram. ^^ Fram is great.

Dae means shadow too, and Leo's character is Shade... Yep. You're gold, I'm supposedly silver *likes silver* and Lëo's just shadow. Huzzah! for the wraithiness of that which is Lëo!!!!!

Well, I do have gold in my name, don't I? *feels spiffy*
I was wondering about that, because o' course there's no laurë or mal anywhere in any of my names... But of course there's thedreadfully obvious version... Huzzah! I have gold in my name! ;D

I keep wanting to post stuf when I'm away from a computer, and then I forget all about it. I think it's because I have entirely too many ideas swarming around. Anyhow, I'd rather not continue summarising every day, since there's not much to say and not much that I remember. I guess I'll do a question and answer session. Ask me anything ye like (not necessarily trip-related), and I'll do my best to answer. I'm not sure how much of a dangerous situation I'm putting myself in here... We'll see.

Snow Pip! Huzzah! Larger Version...I'll post more of them later.. I think I'll have to get a different image host and transfer all of my personal pictures away from the GRM's host... It's getting a bit too full for my tastes. Does anyone know of a good one? An MSN Group has served me well enough, but for simple personal photos, avatars and such, what d'ye recommend? I know most people use photobucket...
