What's alive? Of course it's alive. It's about to eat you.

Another funeral to cancel. Glad you are alive though. Haven't heard from you in a while and was beginning to wonder and the state of your aliveness.

Aw, why cancel it? It is going to eat her, after all, and I shouldn't like to let all that cake go to waste...

Our Elbie? Why ours? Does she want to be ours?
Yeah. If she doesn't get eaten, we'll have to find someone else to kill so we can finally have our cake.

*takes out Official Scroll* Nay, since the party whose death was in question was in fact... Elbie... only Elbie may be killed at this time. Therefore, by.. royal decree... the killing of Mari is... ILLEGAL!

Eh, well wouldn't the death of Firi go against what Mip said, that Elbie may be the only one who can be killed at this time, or does the fact that Firi killed Mari, thus committing an illegal action, change everything? But Mari's undead now, so does it really matter anymore? Huh.

No, not really. See, first of all, she didn't quite manage to kill me. I didn't say I was dead, I just asked if she was allowed to do that. It was, you see, a tentative killing, to be completed upon the giving of permission, and no permission was given. So I never died in the first place.
However, if someone tentatively kills someone in an illegal way, their punishment is.. death. So it all works.
And no, that's not hypocritical. It would be hypocritical if it weren't sanctioned by the Official Scroll™.. but, thankfully, it is.

Hmm.. No one really died in the first place, so no one was killed an illegal way and they should receive no punishment. Now, is that right or did I miss something?

No, don't you see? Like I said, I didn't actually die, but she did tentatively kill me in an illegal way, and as I said.. that's illegal.. and punishable by death. She thought she'd killed me, and that's all that really matters.

But maybe I was just walking towards Firi humming the death march, and was actually going to kill Elbie... in which case aforemention laws still pertain to given situation. ^^; Needless to say, through admitting the undeadliness o' Mari, it is admitting that she cannot be killed. That is to say, you can't kill the undead. ^^
