Hello to everyone. Thank you to all of you who are still with me. If you're wondering why I started a new discussion thread I found the other one to be full of domran stuff that didn't need to be there and decided just to start anew. I've copied all the character profiles into this thread and posted the new game layout so I think we're set.

Here is a new game layout I have come up with. It still follows the same story but adds more to it and makes it a better RPG I think. Please remember few things are ever set in stone in a RPG and you can play with the storyline and bring things to it and your character. Just because your character isn’t mentioned in one of the steps doesn’t mean you’re blocked from posting. This is just basically what I’d like us to follow.

Bear with me. This will probably be rather confuzzling. There are sometimes three storylines woven together.

Game Layout

Step One: Character intros and such that we have already done.

Step Two: The attack on Ithilien by the “bandits.” I believe there’s been some question as to a motive. The motive is simply Feleradan is a clever, e-vile guy with a lust for power. The attack is well planned but something goes awry for the villains (they are discovered too soon, some of the bandits make a mistake, they misjudged something, etc) and they begin to lose. Feleradan orders a retreat then sees Éowyn who has come out to fight. He kidnaps her while he retreats with Rían witnessing the action.

Step Three: A: Faramir is instantly overwhelmed with the aftermath of the fight, unaware of Éowyn’s plight (yes, I know that rhymes). We’d have a Rían post here as well and you could do what you want with that, Mari. Horror over what just happened, searching for Faramir to tell him about Éowyn or something.
B: The villains return to hideout. Feleradan is pleased with the capture of Éowyn and begins making his plans (writing ransom note and arranging a blockade of messengers leaving or entering Ithilien).
C: Laithanna is out early the next morning heading to Ithilien. Yes, she lives alone but she has to go to the village sometime. There she sees the destruction and hears/sees something that makes her suspect Feleradan had a part in it.

Step 4: A: About noon that day, Rían finds Faramir and informs him of Éowyn just before the ransom letter arrives. The letter arranges a meeting at noon two days from now for Faramir to either surrender Ithilien or condemn Éowyn to death. Of course, Faramir cannot surrender Ithilien but Rían departs Ithilien in search of Éowyn.
B: Feleradan meets Laithanna later that day who confronts him about the attack. Her accusations make him angry and he forcefully take her to the hideout to show her the kind of life he lives. Feleradan is growing more and more violent with his men each day. It is obvious many serve him out of fear rather than loyalty. Laithanna discovers Éowyn and maybe talks with her. Feleradan calms down and tries to walks Laithanna home but she refuses and leaves alone.

Step 5: The next day, Feleradan sends a bloody piece of Éowyn’s dress to Ithilien to sway Faramir’s decision. Then visits Laithanna hoping to straighten things out. He explains his plans to her hoping to make her understand his point of view. He intends to kill Éowyn and attack those in Ithilien no matter what Faramir’s decision. Laithanna orders him away from her home. Rían approaches Laithanna’s house and hears the ending of the conversation. Suspecting Feleradan’s identity, she approaches Laithanna. Laithanna perhaps admits that Feleradan is the bandit leader and that she has knowledge of his plans. Rían takes Laithanna back to Ithilien.

Step 6: Rían and Laithanna arrive in Ithilien that evening. I imagine Laithanna might have some sort of internal struggle about betraying the man she’s in love with but however it’s decided to play it is fine as long Laithanna tells all eventually. Faramir uses the newly gained knowledge to form a plan to rescue Éowyn and disband the villains.

Step 7: The next morning, Feleradan is preparing his men for the big attack that day. Éowyn manages to break loose and wounds Feleradan before being overcome. Not a serious wound but enough to hamper his reflexes.

Step 8: Faramir, Rían, Laithanna, and a small band of soldiers creep from Ithilien towards the bandits’ hideout. The bandits are getting ready to go to the meeting place when they approach. Laithanna goes ahead of them to draw out Feleradan and any lookouts that might be posted. I am unsure of how to continue from here on out. There are many possibilities. The end result is that Feleradan will be either killed or captured and his men surrender without a large struggle. Éowyn is safe, Ithilien is saved, and they live happily ever after. But how to end Laithanna’s character is quite a thought. I have considered having her killed in the confrontation but that doesn’t have to be decided yet.

So, thoughts? Questions? I was in a big hurry typing this so I apologize if there are any errors. There may be a question as to why the heck Feleradan is attacking Ithilien. My thought is he’s slightly insane (and maybe completely cracks in the end) yet clever. But who knows what drives him? Maybe it’s something in his past or he’s tired of his hard lowly lifestyle. He’s a complex character I can tell you.

Well, that is the only thing I can remember that seemed a bit odd to me in the storyline. If something seems rather odd to one of you please say so. I very well may have overlooked something.

Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe.

If you are taking over a character that someone is unable to continue for, feel free to post your own profile for that character if you wish.

Firondoiel's profile for Eowyn

NAME: Eowyn

AGE: 28

RACE: Human

GENDER: Female

WEAPONS: Sword

APPEARANCE: Long blonde hair and grey eyes. Very tall and slender. Very pretty and has a pale complexion. This is how Tolkien describes her...
“Grave and thoughtful was her glance, as she looked on the king with Spiffy pity in her eyes. Very fair was her face, and her long hair was like a river of gold. Slender and tall she was in her white robe girt with silver; but strong she seemed and stern as steel, a daughter of kings.”

PERSONALITY: Eowyn has a very strong character. She is courageous, bold, and can be rather stubborn. She is normally very grave and thoughtful. She is skilled in swordplay and horse riding. She is deeply in love with Faramir.

HISTORY: Eowyn, daughter of Eomund, was Lady of Rohan. Her brother was Eomer and she was Theoden’s niece. Her parents were killed when she was a little girl so her Uncle Theoden raised her and her brother. She was trained in swordplay and learned to ride. She grew close to her brother Eomer and Vetter Theoden and loved her uncle very much. As she grew older she began to envy her brother and Vetter for they got do all the things she wished. She was doomed to remain at Edoras while they rode to war. A shadow fell on Rohan as the power in Mordor and Isengard increased. A man named Wormtongue appeared in Rohan and grew in favour with the king despite his obvious e-vileness. Eowyn had to fend off Wormtongues' constant advances on her while her uncle dwindled and began to grow weak. Theodred, Eowyn's Vetter, was killed in battle and Eomer was thrown into prison after threatening Wormtongue. Eowyn was alone and forced to wait upon an old man. Gandalf came and healed Theoden and Wormtongue left Rohan. With Gandalf came Aragorn. When Eowyn met Aragorn she instantly fell in love with him. She managed to see in him “the heir of kings, wise with many winters”. She gave all her heart to the King-to-be of Gondor, but her love was unrequited, for Aragorn’s heart belonged to Arwen Undomiel. Theoden organized a campaign to Helm's Deep and left the Eowyn in charge of Rohan. But Eowyn could not wait for some outcome and do nothing at all. For she was not only a brave and fearless maiden, but a true warrior. She tried to dissuade Aragorn from going on the Paths of the Dead, she begged him not to do that. But all in vain. So, in the disguise of a man named Dernhelm she left Rohan and rode to Gondor with the King’s forces, sneaking Merry along at her side. Probably, it was the fate itself that willed for Merry and Eowyn to be together at the battle of the Pelennor. According to an ancient legend, one of the Nine wouldn’t die from the hand of a man. So it happened – the Nazgul Lord died of the sword of Eowyn. She was deadly injured and was also hurt by the Black Breath. During her stay in the Houses of Healing, she met Faramir, the Steward of Gondor. Soon Faramir revealed his feelings to her, however some time passed before she returned his love. Soon Eowyn and Faramir were married, and she became the White Lady of Ithilien.

Arafangwen's profile for Laithanna/Young Girl

NAME: Laithanna, Laith for short.

AGE: 17

RACE: human

GENDER: female

WEAPONS: A small knife hidden in her boot, she uses a bow, but carries is very rarely in public.

APPEARANCE: Medium length, dirty blonde hair, a lightly tanned complexion, honey-almond eyes.

PERSONALITY: Laith is a very strong willed girl, what she wants, she usually gets. She dosen't interact with other people that much as she lives alone, so she's not extremely friendly to strangers. Her responsibility is for herself and that's about as far as she takes it. If someone has a problem, tough. She dosen't like to change for other people, she's very content just the way she is.

HISTORY: Laithanna was born in a little town near Ithilien called Rachen. Her mother died in childbirth and she was raised by her father until the age of 14 when he died after falling from the village wall into a deep pit below. She lived on her own for a year, doing odd jobs and feeding herself with her garden. When she turned 15, she no longer felt accepted in her village and she left for Ithilien where her fathers brother lived. Once she got there, she stayed with her uncle until he got tired of her being around(he wasn't a very friendly person) and gave her a small house of her own and sent her away to it. She has lived on her own ever since, raising a garden and chickens to get along. When she turned 16 she started to explore the wooded areas surrounding Ithilien. That's when she met "the bandit leader", not knowing who he was then and developed feelings for him, and vice versa (shhh, don't tell!).

Le'lorinel's profile for Faramir

Name: Faramir, son of Denethor.
Age: He was born in the year 2983, and Eowyn was born in the year 2905, 12 years later. And since Firi said that Eowyn is 28 years old in this RPG, then I'd be 40, and we would have been married for 4 years now.

Personality: Faramir is a good man, though he was always trying to satisfy his father up until his death. His love for Eowyn has not dimmed since the first day he laid eyes on her, and it will only grow greater as time carries on. He takes his responsibilities seriously, and knows when he is in too deep. His mother was of partially elven blood, and in turn Faramir was gifted with the limited power of foresight.

Weapons: Well, there's his sword, and his bow. I'm not sure that either of them have names...

History: Faramir is the son of Denethor and Finduilas, younger brother of Boromir, Prince of Illithien after Aragorn becomes king. In Denethor's eyes Faramir was always second best. His father expressed many times his favoritism for Boromir. He even said he wished Faramir had died instead. Unlike his portrayal in the movie, Faramir had no interest in the ring, Faramir comes right out and says that were the ring lying on the road he would not pick it up. He does not want the ring or anything to do with it.

As Aragorn ascends the throne of Gondor, Faramir marries Eowyn on August 10th of the year 3019 at the age of 36 after meeting her in the houses of healing after the battle of Pellenor field.

ElberethVarda's profile for Feleradan/Bandit Leader

NAME: Feleradan

AGE: 29 (yeah, a little too old for Laith, but, hey, it works )

RACE: Human

GENDER: Male

WEAPONS: Bow and arrows with which he is quite efficient, sword whish he uses at need. A dagger as well.

APPEARANCE: Felerdan has dark skin from living out in the wild for so long. His dark brown hair is cut short, and he has eyes to match. He is tall and lean.

PERSONALITY: Feleradan has learned to rely on no one but himself. He does whatever it takes for him to live, even if it is hurting people he cares about. He hardly ever allows himself to grow close to someone, because it "clouds the way you think." But when Laith came along, he was suprised by her will and defiance. He grew to care about her, more than he knows.

HISTORY: Feleradan's parents died when he was a child. He was brought by the village in which he lived as a joint effort. When he turned fourteen, he considered himself grown and ran away to live in the forest. He has lived there ever since, and over the years, collected many followers. They usually stuck to robbing outlying farms, capturing occasional people for ransoms, and stayed clear of anywhere else. But it doesn't pay well enough any longer. Feleradan decided to try something no outlaw has ever dared to do.

Marigold's profile for Rian/Eowyn's handmaiden

NAME: Rían

AGE: 26

RACE: Human, Gondorian

GENDER: female

WEAPONS: Rían has skill with a bow, and can fight with a dagger at need.

APPEARANCE: Long, dark brown hair, and brown eyes.

PERSONALITY: Rían is rather talkative, but she makes a good handmaiden for Éowyn. She is dedicated and loyal to those she loves, but she can be forgetful. She is friendly and curious. If there's something she's set her mind to, she'll pursue it to the death, especially if it's something she wants to know.

HISTORY: Rían is the daughter of an influential family from Ithilien which moved back onto their lands after the War of the Ring. She has served Éowyn since her marriage to Faramir. They don't always understand one another, but they are good friends. Rían is trained to protect Éowyn, although no doubt if it came to a fight Éowyn could protect herself, physically at least. Rían's position occasionally leads her to do investigation into the situation in Ithilien, to ensure that no one close to Éowyn is plotting anything against her. So far there have been no serious threats, and Rían has become a little lazy, doubting that anything will happen in which she will be called upon to physically defend Éowyn.

Sorry for not responding earlier!

I think the whole thing/plot looks great!

Does this mean that I have to wait to post for Faramir, until this step is done, or do you want us to go ahead and start posting? :)

Great, Firi! Look very much forwards to get this rolling! :)

Thank you very much for the comments! They're very encouraging and I appreciate them.

You may go ahead and post for Faramir right now if you wish. Then we'll move into the attack. I've thought up an attack plan so we will all be consisten. If you would like to add to it. feel free.

Alrighty, I'm thinking that this group of bandits is really talented with their weapons. One reason they're always successful. This attack isn't meant to take hold of Ithilien. Feleradan isn't that confident yet. This is wanting to weaken Ithilien and test out what they're up against. So on with the "plan."

Only thirty men venture in at first. They are split into groups of two and entering at different points around Ithilien were the guard is the weakest. They've been spying out Ithilien for quite sometime so Feleradan would know where those points are. The object is to stay undetected for as long as possible while working their way towards the center which would be near the hall of Eowyn and Faramir. In order to create distractions to keep a part of the Ithilien soldiers busy, they start several fires on the way in before they begin their attack in the center. Then Feleradan will blow a signal on his horn for the rest (or a certain number) of the bandits to enter Ithilien and help cut a way out for the thirty. What I'm thinking is that the Ithilien soldiers are stronger than Feleradan believed and he calls for the retreat sooner than planned then spots Eowyn and you know the rest.

An additional note, I will be playing the part of Laithanna and Eowyn since Arafangwen hasn't responded and I know she's very busy.

Questions anyone?

That's okay Nova. Just whenever you have time. ^^

Seeing as how Laithanna doesn't need to have a post for a while, if you know of someone who might like the role, let me know or get in touch with them to see if they will do it. If no one has been found when it is time for her post I'll double up.

Your post if just fine, Nova. I'm so glad to have you along. :)

Now the attack begins. Elbereth, I think Feleradan would need the first post so could you get things rolling for us? After that posting order doesn't greatly matter. I look forward to everyone's posts.

Elbereth isn't going to be around for a while. I don't know when she's coming back so that means the roles of Feleradan and Laithanna are without players. I don't really won't to take both of them on with Eowyn. I'll see if I can find at least one person who wants to join so we can move forward.
